Purpose of the job
We are seeking two Quantity Surveying/Commercial professionals to join our Commercial team based out of our Risley or Milton offices.  You will be responsible for delivering the commercial and contract management of our projects, from inception to final account.  You will work closely with project teams and support functions, and build strong relationships with our clients and supply chain.  Your enthusiastic, proactive and professional approach will be key to successful project commercial outcomes.
Reports to
Senior Commercial Manager or Head of Commercial

Key Accountabilities

Provide commercial delivery of the following aspects for projects that operate on a lump sum, remeasurable, target cost, or reimbursable basis:
Project cash flow and budget
Contractual terms &amp; conditions (both client and supply chain)
Interim applications in accordance with contract procedures
Change management, in accordance with contract procedures
Negotiation of contract amendments, including review of terms &amp; conditions
Subcontract account management, including review of interim applications, preparation of payment certificates, management and assessment of potential changes, and final accounting upon completion
Preparation of internal cost / commercial reports, including accurate margin forecasting
Compliance with all relevant Health &amp; Safety regulations&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Qualifications and Experience
·        Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or in a related subject (candidates with appropriate experience may be considered)
·        5+ years of experience in quantity surveying in the engineering or construction industry
·        Good working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts (particularly Options C &amp; E)
·        Demonstrable experience of successfully carrying out Quantity Surveying duties on multiple engineering and/or construction projects
·        Excellent oral and written communication skills
·        Ability to build strong relationships with project teams, clients, and the supply chain
·        Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
·        PC literate in the Microsoft Office suite

 Description of the assignment
Senior Structural Engineers make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day developments of the design through the design process.

Senior or Principal Stress Engineer
A vacancy has arisen for a Senior or Principal Stress Engineer within the Analysis Team based at our Warrington or Didcot offices. We are looking for a focused, enthusiastic and skilled Senior/Principal Engineer to join the Analysis Team and to integrate with project design teams as required. Carrying out FE analysis and hand calculations for consultancy projects for the substantiation of designs

Provide timely escalation and recommendations where matters affect safety, technical integration, constructability, scope, schedule, cost, quality or commissioning readiness.
Provide project management oversight across Conventional Island HV and electrical scope, including substations, switchgear, transformers, electrical distribution, auxiliary power systems, earthing, cable systems, interfaces with turbine plant and associated balance of plant electrical infrastructure, as applicable to the final programme scope.
Ensure effective integration of HV and electrical systems with the Conventional Island, owner’s scope balance of plant, grid interfaces, control and instrumentation systems, site infrastructure and operational readiness requirements.
Support administration of NEC3/4 or equivalent contracts, including change control, early warnings, progress monitoring, deliverable review, supplier performance management and issue resolution.
Promote constructive and commercially aware working relationships across client, vendor, partner and supply chain teams while protecting the clients’ interests.
Work with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, project controls, commissioning, safety, quality, grid, construction and supply chain teams, to maintain alignment and timely decision-making.
Prepare and present project updates, reports, governance submissions and briefings for senior stakeholders and programme boards.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications &amp; Experience:
Experience supporting delivery of HV and electrical packages on major infrastructure, power generation, utilities, transmission, distribution or industrial projects within regulated environments.
Understanding of high-voltage and electrical systems and their integration with conventional plant, site infrastructure, commissioning and operational interfaces.
Familiarity with contract administration, project controls, risk management and collaborative delivery models.
Ability to manage multiple technical, commercial and programme interfaces across complex packages.
Strong organisational, reporting and coordination skills, with attention to detail and sound judgement.
Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels.
Proactive, collaborative and delivery-focused approach.
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
Project management accreditation (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2, PMP) preferred.

Purpose of the job
