Senior Temporary Works Inspector 
What you will do:

As a Temporary Works Inspector, you will support the Temporary Works Engineer in the inspection, verification, and monitoring of temporary works during the construction lifecycle. You will ensure that temporary works are installed, maintained, and dismantled in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable Ontario regulations.
You will support the project's Temporary Works department to ensure temporary works are safe, compliant, and fit for purposes.


Concretely, your tasks will be:


Temporary Works Inspection &amp; Verification

Support the Temporary Works Engineer in implementing the Temporary Works Management Process on the project.
Conduct inspections of temporary works before first use, following modifications, and at required intervals.
Verify that temporary works are installed in accordance with approved drawings, engineering requirements, method statements, and project procedures.
Temporary platforms, barriers, hoarding and protection systems;
Verify that temporary works remains safe, stable, and fit for purpose during their operational life.


Construction Support &amp; Site Integration

Collaborate with Superintendents, Supervisors, Temporary Works Engineer, Temporary Work Cordinator), subcontractors, and field teams to ensure temporary works are constructed and used as intended.
Participate in site walks, coordination meetings, and pre-task planning sessions.
Verify that site conditions remain consistent with design assumptions, including ground conditions, loading requirements, environmental factors, and access constraints.
Provide guidance to site teams regarding inspection requirements, hold points, and temporary works limitations.

Inspection, Compliance &amp; Assurance

Verify compliance with approved temporary works designs, project specifications, construction procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Complete checklists and inspection report before temporary works are placed into service.
Identify and track deficiencies, non-conformities, and deviations from approved designs.
Ensure corrective actions are completed and verified before temporary works are used.


Risk &amp; Safety Management

Support the implementation of project safety requirements and Temporary Works Procedures.
Immediately report and escalate unsafe conditions, unauthorized modifications, or design deviations to the Temporary Works Coordinator and Project Management Team.

Documentation &amp; Reporting

Complete the inspection reports, deficiency notices, and recommendations for corrective actions.
Maintain accurate inspection records, project reports, photographs,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Your skills:
Degree in Civil / Structural engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 8 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality inspection, field engineering, temporary works inspection, or construction supervision.
Strong knowledge of temporary works systems, including formwork, falsework, scaffolding, shoring, excavation support, and access systems.
Knowledge of Ontario construction safety regulations is required
Safety and scaffold inspection certification is considered an asset.
Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound technical judgment.
Team-oriented with a proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What you will do:

What you will do:

As a Payroll Specialist, you will oversee the full payroll lifecycle for unionized construction employees, covering payroll processing, employee onboarding and offboarding in ADP, employee records management, regulatory and year-end reporting, while ensuring compliance with collective agreements and applicable legislation.


Concretely, your tasks will be:
 
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding in ADP; 
Oversea and maintain employee records, including maternity and paternity leave, paid leave, absences, and sick leave, and other union regulated leave entitlements; 
Process union payroll in compliance with collective agreements, provincial and federal legislation; 
Produce payroll reports and ensure data accuracy across ADP and Excel;

Health and Safety Manager

What is the project?

What you will do:

Establish and maintain the Construction Health &amp; Safety Management Plan and related documentation in collaboration with the Project Management Team, ensuring it remains up to date throughout the project and addresses all particularly hazardous work activities.
Manage the Health &amp; Safety Coordinators and ensure daily coordination (Onshore, Marine and Tunnel). 
Plan and organize the necessary trainings and workshops so that the
Construction Health &amp; Safety Management Plan is understood and cascaded down in the construction methods, preliminary work plans and work plans established by the Methods and Construction Teams. 
Support the project teams for all matters related to Health and Safety Management. 
Plan and organize, with the support of the Health &amp; Safety Coordinator, the General and Specific orientations, trainings and awareness sessions to ensure that all project personnel, service providers and third parties understand Health &amp; Safety policies, systems and procedures. 
Develop the Behavior Based Safety program at all levels of the organization to raise the Health &amp; Safety culture of the Project. 
Actively participate to Safety in Design workshops and the development of the Methods and the Work Plans. 
Actively participate to the kick-off meetings with project teams as well as subcontractor representatives 
Plan and carry out regular site inspections together with the Project Management Team, Construction team and QHSE team to ensure that all measures are implemented as expected and identify potential improvement actions. 
Plan and lead monthly review of LTI and HiPo with the Project Director, Project Manager(s), Construction Director, Construction Managers, Plant Manager. 
Organize, in coordination with the Human Resources Manager, the health checks of personnel when needed / required (e.g. nightshift workers &amp; offshore works). 
Accompany project teams in defining corrective actions when appropriate and participate to their communication by establishing Safety Alerts and Health &amp; Safety good practices that are spread through the organization. 
Actively participate in preparing CODIR presentation on environment 
Participate in the weekly internal QHSE-Permits meeting and other meetings as necessary (e.g. : Project HSE committees and Project reference group forums chaired by OPG). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Minimum of 10 years experience on the site of large construction projects; 
Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership role in health &amp; safety on a large construction project;  
Proven experience in tunneling or underground works, preferably with TBM operations, or maritime works; 
Certified NCSO-IHSA or CRSP or the US equivalent;

What is the project?
The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve:
-         A 1.5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.5 m diameter slurry TBM);
-         Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);
-         An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.
The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.
What you will do:
The Superintendent will provide on-site coordination of all construction activities while ensuring the proper implementation of safety protocols. They will collaborate with stakeholders across the project to ensure key milestones are met and maintain accurate records of construction activities and costs.
Concretely, your tasks will be:
Supervise subcontractor teams within the area of control
Ensure that HSE is always guaranteed by enforcing a safe work environment, implementing and monitoring safety protocols, and conducting regular safety inspections to prevent accidents and mitigate risks 
Manage and coordinate all construction activities on the project, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations
Monitor the quality of work performed on-site to ensure adherence to industry standards, project requirements, and best practices
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to develop and implement construction schedules, work plans, and resource allocation to meet project milestones and objectives
Identify and address any issues or obstacles that may arise during the construction process, employing effective problem-solving skills to maintain project progress and minimize delays
Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily reports, progress updates, and any changes or deviations from the original plans. Provide regular reports to project management and stakeholders
Monitor project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, and assist in managing the project budget, seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and safety standards
Review of construction documentation (including the Safe Work Plan, JHA, Safety Plan)
Coordination of activities required for site possession, including documentation and OPG’s permits&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
A degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred 
A proven track record of at least 10-15 years as a Superintendent, preferably on Ontario Power Generation sites 
Experience with earthworks, and utility relocation  
Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, codes, and regulations 
Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and guide a diverse workforce 
Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with team members, stakeholders, and subcontractors 
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address construction challenges and provide practical solutions 
In-depth knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment 
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment 
Proficient in using construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office applications &lt;br /&gt;

Project Overview:
The Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) Joint Venture consisting of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh Construction has been selected to construct the $2.9BN Design Build Red Line Extension (RLE) project – the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The RLE Mainline Design-Build (MDB) Project will extend the CTA's Red Line by 5.6 miles, extending from the existing terminal at 95th/Dan Ryan south to 130th Street and Doty Avenue.
Responsabilities
As the Schedule Engineer on the $2.9BN Red Line Extension Project (RLE) in Chicago-Illinois, you will play a crucial role in planning and scheduling construction activities within a designated area, ensuring efficient use of resources to achieve milestone completion dates. This position is fully on site and in office. This position requires an understanding of construction processes, project management principles, and scheduling software/tools.
Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules for assigned projects, incorporating all phases from pre-construction to project closeout.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and constraints.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to create accurate schedules with input from stakeholders. Identify critical path and near critical path activities and potential risks; propose mitigation strategies to ensure schedule adherence.
Monitor progress against the schedule and provide regular updates to project teams and management.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to align their activities with project schedules.
Conduct schedule impact analysis for changes and deviations from the original plan.
Experience in using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) proficiently to create, update, and analyze schedules.
Ensure compliance with project timelines, contractual obligations, and scheduling best practices/standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum five (5) years heavy construction scheduling experience
Preferred:
Major in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
Ability to summarize and consolidate information effectively both written and verbally.
Confident setting meeting agendas and leading a meeting or call.
Comfortable with programs like Word, Excel, other Microsoft Office Suite programs and information management systems such as SharePoint, Smartsheet, ACC, or E-Builder.
Organized and able to manage and store documents effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to interface and effectively communicate with others.
Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.
Proven skill and ability to identify and mitigate scheduling issues for simple and complex construction projects.
Proficient with the generation and maintenance of cost and resource loaded schedules.
Ability to self-prioritize and self-start projects and task work.
Ability to effectively multi-task similar activities in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Advanced verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Salary Range:
$115,000.00 to $125,000.00
