Menard Ireland is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced geotechnical engineer to take a leading role in our agency, headquartered in Cork.
The Candidate will ensure the running and delivery of ground improvement projects and will be involved in day-to-day to technical and site operations aspects of Menard. The Candidate will support site and office teams across Ireland. The role includes technical delivery, execution, coordination, quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety, design, and engineering standards.
The role involves both site-based and office-based responsibilities, contributing to project planning, execution, and reporting.
Duties:
· Oversee projects and ensure successful delivery.
· Contribute, support and deliver essential aspects of tendering, design, planning, execution and reporting of ground improvement works.
· Prepare, collate and review documentation for submission to clients, including offer letters, design reports, safety statements, design calculations, drawings, production reports, lift plans, certification documents and other documents as required.
· Coordinate workload and resources with operations and commercial teams.
· Liaise with the Menard team and administrative staff to ensure the day to day running of the business.
· Ensure projects are being complete on time and under budget.
· Ensure inhouse applications for tracking equipment, personnel and HSE reporting are up to date.

Profile:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology (BEng) with: 
o a Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (MEng, MSc) with 2–5 years’ 
experience; or 
o 3–8 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, piling, ground improvement or 
site investigations.  
• Strong understating of geotechnical design from first principles including but not limited to 
ground improvement, foundation behaviour, retaining structures, site investigations and slope 
stability assessments. 
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Autocad. 
• Knowledge of software such as Plaxis and Slope/W is beneficial. 
• Ability to travel and work on project sites across Ireland as required or requested. 
• Strong time management and attention to detail. 
• Ability to adapt to changing project needs and work under pressure. 
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team&lt;br /&gt;

What could you expect as a Site Engineer @VINCI Construction CS? 
As part of VINCI Construction CS project delivery team, you would take an active role in supporting the safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of major infrastructure projects. The responsibilities below are shared across both projects, though priorities may vary depending on project stage and focus. 
Your key responsibilities could include:
Project Management
Support safe planning and site execution
Develop and manage inspection and test plans
Perform quality checks and compile documentation
Ensure correct environmental controls are in place
Provide setout info and technical input as needed
Promote a culture of quality and environmental care

Health &amp; Safety
Apply and uphold HEB’s safety procedures
Identify hazards and participate in briefings and training
Ensure compliance with safe work practices and PPE use
Contribute to incident reporting and investigations
Support the implementation of temporary safety measures

Financial &amp; Programme Management
Assist with procurement, cost tracking and invoicing
Prepare purchase orders and variation claims
Contribute to contract programmes and tender support
Perform key commercial support tasks

As part of your duties as a site engineer, you may be required to work on other projects.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
