Profile
With a reputation for excellence and innovation, we are now seeking a talented Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at our head office in Macquarie Park, Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in supporting complex projects while contributing to the success of a global leader in construction and engineering.
About the Role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will:
Provide expert legal advice across all Freyssinet business units, covering areas such as contracts, compliance, employment, and dispute resolution.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and legal compliance.
Manage legal risks by identifying potential issues and developing solutions to mitigate them.
Collaborate with project and operational teams to integrate legal considerations into business decisions and strategies.
Support claims resolution and represent the company in negotiations.
Monitor and communicate changes in laws and regulations impacting our operations, delivering training as needed.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements to safeguard the business.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
A legal qualification with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an in-house role or a reputable law firm.
Expertise in contract law and construction law, with familiarity in laws affecting the construction and engineering sectors.
Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven experience managing complex legal issues and delivering commercially focused solutions.
Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
Knowledge of the construction, engineering, or related industries is highly desirable.
