Role: Senior Project Manager

 

Location: Oundle, Peterborough

 

Hours: 37.5hrs per week

 

Salary range: £55,000 - £65,000 (experience dependent)

About the role

 

You will work directly with our clients within the food and beverage industry and their internal design and management teams, using your knowledge of PLC-based control system architecture, PLC, HMI and SCADA coding, machine safety and integrated system safety to help lead a project through all stages of development — from initial project negotiation to final testing.

 

And at every stage, you will nurture and continue to develop our relationship with the client, bringing your strong strategic and tactical skills to the fore. We need someone like you to help us continue to provide our customers with the level and quality of service we are noted for and work hard to maintain.

 

You’ll be part of our supportive and collaborative Eltek team in Northamptonshire, which is made up of the Project Managers and Engineers, and will report to the General Manager of the Eltek Systems business unit.  

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare, review, and present detailed technical proposals and quotations for bespoke control systems, including tendering activity with cost estimation, and negotiate when pricing work, rework or variations.
  • Liaise directly with customers (throughout all stages of a project/programme), including the customer’s internal design and management teams.
  • Provide technical supervision of system design, build and installation personnel
  • Review the design and testing of control systems to ensure they are in accordance with agreed specifications, applicable standards and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure all relevant Health & Safety procedures are adhered to
  • Prepare and present project reviews and evaluations (earned value analysis) to Eltek/Actemium management.
  • Take the lead in ensuring your team continues to develop their skills in line with business goals.
  • Work alongside other Project Mangers to develop existing client relationships and identify future requirements on site(s)
  • Personally visit customer site(s) as and when required.

 

 

The Person:

 

  • Good to high level of software knowledge of and experience with:
    - system for in-process and manufacturing environments
    - PLC-based control system architecture
    - PLC, HMI and SCADA coding
    - integrated system testing of application software and the industrial hardware
    - machinery safety design and associated standards
    - on-site commissioning of industrial control systems
  • You can show examples of successful team leadership and management experience, including proven ability to encourage team members to continue to improve their skill sets.
  • You have a high level of ability to understand and produce control system design documents.
  • You are qualified to HNC/HND/degree level in a relevant discipline and have in-depth experience in system integration, OR substantial experience in systems integration.
  • Ability to develop and maintain key relationships with customers and internal personnel.
