And we need you to help us keep doing so! That’s why we are looking for a Quality & Environment Officer VIE (F/M) who will play a key role in supporting the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Quality and Environment Management Systems in Western Canada.

What can you expect as a Quality & Environment Officer @BABlacktop? 

Based in Vancouver, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders by performing a variety of tasks related to environmental and quality management.

Your key responsibilities include:

Quality & Environment Management Systems:
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Western Canada’s ISO-registered Quality and Environment Management Systems.
- Review or develop practices for environmental and business management systems.
- Maintain annual environmental prequalifications (e.g., ISNetworld, YVR).


Compliance and Audits:
- Utilize environmental legal compliance software to ensure full regulatory compliance across industry and operational sites.
- Conduct site-specific inspections and audits to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.


Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, input, and analyze environmental and quality statistical data to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Develop and distribute updates on environmental and quality topics for employee review.


Training and Awareness:
- Conduct environmental and business management system onboarding for new workers.
- Create engaging educational tools, such as environmental-based screensavers for company computers.


Procurement and Logistics:
-Acquire quotations and purchase supplies for environmental initiatives.


Internal and External Collaboration
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including the HSE Manager, Accounting, and Operations teams.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as environmental regulatory agencies and contractors, to ensure alignment with requirments

  • You are an engineering school or university graduate, with a degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. This way, you’ll have a first academic and theoretical knowledge of our environmental stakes.
  • To help you take on your first missions and feel at ease with the assignments, you understand the basis of quality and environmental reporting and standards. A first experience in ISO audits and impact assessment methodologies is a plus.
  • To succeed in data analysis, a proficiency in tools like the Microsoft Suite, and an experience with Power BI or PowerQuery, is valued.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for this role. You will need to effectively convey complex environmental and quality concepts, adapt your approach to diverse audiences, and foster collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills will help you navigate the diversity of missions and complete thorough statistical analysis.
  • Our teams are tights, and you’ll need all the support you can get to get your points across: thanks to your curiosity and your sociability, you’ll quickly adapt and be integrated.
  • You are proud of your ability to maintain independent thought and objective pursuit of facts whilst safeguarding the confidentiality of reports and investigation details as needed
  • Your everyday life will be in English: as such, you need to feel confident enough about your English level, in terms of writing but also speaking.
  • You have your driving license to help you navigate between the different sites and projects you’ll be supporting. 

 

NB: this job ad is for a VIE.

The VIE program is a specific program led by the French government, with specific criteria. It requires you to: 

· Be a European citizen aged between 18 and 28 on the date of registration, whatever training level.  

· Be a graduate student, with a fluent level in English.  

· Have never done any V.I.E. in the past. 

· Not have worked previously in the host country.
