Description of the assignment

BA Blacktop Ltd. is currently seeking a team-oriented, self-motivated, and dedicated individual to join our Operations department as a Field Surveyor.

The Field Surveyor is responsible for performing field survey tasks on various construction sites. This also includes data analysis and quantities calculations.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementing and following company’s safety manual and rules
  • Coordinating and working with site management teams, subcontractors, and/or clients regarding layout and quantity surveys
  • Reading, interpreting, and analyzing engineered construction/shop drawings
  • Calculating accurate layout from digital design files and performing layout/quantity surveys
  • Preparing and/or verifying accurate field data, notes, records, and documents related to surveys for construction
  • Lending guidance and support to site management teams in the correct setup and use of GPS rover, base station, and/or machine control
  • Managing survey equipment including procurement, maintenance, and tracking
  • Completing other related duties as assigned

Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or Civil Engineering
  • Three or more years of experience as a Field Surveyor or Coordinator or related role
  • Working knowledge of set-up and operation of TopCon survey and GPS equipment
  • Experience with and working knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
  • Strong interpersonal and communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with the use of MAGNET Survey an asset
  • Experience with Topcon products

The Surveys Coordinator may be required to work night time or on week-ends depending on Project needs.

Location: Fraser Valley area

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
