Description of the assignment

SCOPE OF POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Marketing Lead to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role oversees all marketing activities across the ConeTec Group, including ConeTec, Mud Bay Drilling, and Geotech Drilling. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will lead a team of three marketing professionals and ensure the seamless execution of both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a marketing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on execution.

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

Strategic Leadership
Implementing the marketing strategy for ConeTec Group, aligning with business goals across all business units.
Manage the marketing calendar, campaign planning, and long‑term brand initiatives.
Oversee brand consistency across all channels, materials, and business units.
Ensure all business units receive consistent, timely, and effective marketing support.

Team Management
Lead, mentor, and support a team of three marketing professionals.
Allocate workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.
Oversee workstreams including digital marketing, design, events, content creation, and internal communications.

Campaigns & Brand Execution
Oversee the development and delivery of multi-channel campaigns.
Review and approve creative deliverables, including videos, presentations, brochures, collateral, and other branded assets.
Provide high‑level guidance on copywriting, content ideation, and messaging.

Digital Marketing
Support digital initiatives including website updates, social media strategy, Eventbrite pages, blogs, and email campaigns.
Ensure all digital activities align with marketing goals and brand standards.
Suggest and create LinkedIn content, including copywriting and suggesting images and graphics.
Make simple updates to the website as needed, including copy edits and image replacements.

Events & Conferences
Oversee planning and execution of client events, conferences, short courses, internal company events, and training sessions.
Coordinate between stakeholders to ensure smooth event delivery.
Attend events and conferences as needed, supporting the Event Specialist workload by helping set up booths, managing the check‑in table, and assisting with on‑site logistics.

Design & Branding
Ensure consistency and quality of all visual assets (SOQs, proposals, feature projects, brochures, infographics, templates, etc.)
Approve key design deliverables and maintain brand standards.
Create graphic design pieces when needed to assist the Marketing Design Coordinator workload

Budget Management
Assist the BD Manager in managing the marketing budget, cost allocation, and vendor relationships.
Track and report on spend across projects, campaigns, and events.

 

Profile

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
 

Education Requirements
Post‑secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, or a related field.

Experience Requirements
5+ years of related marketing experience.
Minimum 1 year in a leadership or people‑management role.
Experience overseeing digital marketing, branding, events, and multi‑channel campaigns.

Technical Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly PowerPoint.
Proficiency with graphic design tools (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Video editing experience is an asset.
Basic knowledge of paid campaigns (Google Ads) is an asset.
Experience with website management is an asset.
