Join us on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects – Sizewell C. The Geotechnical Sub-Alliance (GSA) plays a vital role in preparing the ground for construction, using advanced techniques such as piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting. This is your opportunity to be part of a collaborative team delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality results.

Bachy Soletanche are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor, to join our Ipswich and Leiston based team on one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the UK.

Profile

About the role:

Working as part of our Projects division, the Quantity Surveyor will be a key point of contact within the Commercial Team and will be part of a collaborative alliance delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior commercial team members while managing procurement and supply chain relationships.
  • Drive value for money and cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Measure, record, and value work independently, prepare Bills of Quantities, and build estimates from first principles.
  • Manage commercial activities, cost reconciliations, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Use ERP systems for cost and value tracking and ensure governance compliance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Essential: BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Ideally working towards or holding professional membership (RICS, ICES, CIOB).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a focus on achieving results.
  • Previous commercial experience and industry knowledge are desirable.

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Previous experience or exposure to NEC Contracts.
  • Piling/Earthworks/Civils experience.
