Description of the assignment
§ Design and analysis of soil/rock slopes and support systems.
§ Conduct comprehensive geological assessments of project sites to identify potential hazards, geological formations, soil and rock types, and groundwater conditions that could impact engineering projects.
§ Interpretation of geological, geotechnical, and geophysical investigation data and use of appropriate geotechnical/geological design parameters.
§ Expertise in deriving the Geotechnical/geological properties of the soil/rock by analysing geological, geotechnical investigation data and laboratory testing data, necessary for the slope stability analysis.
§ Rock mass classification (RMR, SMR etc.) based on the field and laboratory data.
§ Interpretation of geological mapping data and identification of possible failure mechanism in rock slopes.
§ Performing structural stability analysis for the identified failures in rock slopes.
§ Provide design inputs to CAD and co-ordinate with CAD staff for preparation of
geological maps and cross-sections to illustrate subsurface features, geological structures, and stratigraphy.
§ Provide on-site supervision and support during construction activities to address unforeseen geological challenges and monitor ground conditions.
§ Short term travel to various locations in India and other countries for site inspection and training related activities.
Profile
§ Bachelors- Civil Engineering
§ PG – ME/MTech/MS in Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology or equivalent
§ Minimum 10 years’ experience in the relevant field
§ Working in design of geotechnical and geological projects would be preferred.
§ Proficiency in geological mapping and field investigation techniques.
§ Experience in Himalayan regions will be an added advantage.
§ Exposure to Rock Mechanics will be an added advantage (structural stability analysis)
§ Working knowledge of software’s like Slope/W, Slide, Dips, RocPlane, SWedge, RocTopple etc.
§ The candidate shall have excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with a positive attitude and ability to work both independently and within groups.
§ Aware of best engineering practices, value engineering, civil designs with respect to buildability, ability to solve site related design issues.
§ Flexible to adopt new work/challenges as per business requirement.
§ Interest in gaining experience and skill in both technical and commercial areas.
