Join us on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects – Sizewell C. The Geotechnical Sub-Alliance (GSA) plays a vital role in preparing the ground for construction, using advanced techniques such as piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting. This is your opportunity to be part of a collaborative team delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality results.
Bachy Soletanche are currently recruiting for an Estimator, to join our Ipswich-based Commercial team on one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the UK.
Profile
About the role:
Working as part of our Projects division, the Estimator will work closely with our Sizewell team to develop the Target Price for geotechnical works and help secure this work for Bachy Soletanche. Beyond this, you’ll contribute to growing our portfolio and shaping future opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming enquiries and assess tender opportunities.
- Develop bid/win strategies tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate with technical and operations teams to prepare cost studies and value engineering proposals.
- Identify and mitigate risks during pre-construction.
- Prepare and present tender offers, engaging in client negotiations through to contract award.
- Maintain Salesforce CRM and support business development initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (professional qualification preferred).
- Significant experience in the UK geotechnical industry and estimating geotechnical solutions.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical design processes.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Full UK driving licence.
It would be a bonus if you have:
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 and Candy
