Description of the assignment
Purpose of the job
To provide a financial management accounting service to the Managing Director of ‘Projects, Engineering & Decommissioning’ (PE&D) and their management team, with the objective of optimising financial performance.
- To Ensure compliance with accounting regulations policies and Nuvia accounting procedures.
- Provide a project accounting service for PE&D projects, working with Operations and Project Management
- Provide a management accounting service to business resource centres.
- Collaborates with other Finance staff at all levels across the company.
- Help provide support and guidance for the Project Accountant Support.

Profile
Key accountabilities
- Data Maintenance/Integrity
- Maintain project work orders, budgets, project relations, monitor integrity of data and clear suspense
- Purchase accruals and Cost of Sales Review
- Ensure accurate accruals and assessment of cost of sales each period and taking of appropriate profits/losses
- Sales Invoicing
- Support and prompt Project Managers in sales invoicing, produce invoice support schedules and assist with debtor payment
- Project Support
- Support financial management of projects, especially major ones
- Financial Advice & Control Provide financial advice and ensure compliance with company financial policies/procedures
Oversee data integrity including ensuring:
- Projects are opened/closed promptly and in accordance with contract terms.
- Project budgets & contract values are maintained in the accounting system.
- Periodic cost reconciliations undertaken against accruals & processing journals.
- Maintain Capital Expenditure, ensuring costs are capitalised where necessary.
- Maintaining business recharges and cost allocations

Qualifications
- Studying towards or an ambition to become a qualified Accountant.
- Experience of management/project accounting in a contracting business
