SCOPE OF POSITION
ConeTec is a leading provider of geocharacterization services worldwide. We characterize the subsurface to enable our clients to explore, build, and protect the world with confidence. By reducing geological uncertainty, we enable better decisions through better information. Adara Systems is ConeTec’s internal downhole tool manufacturing division, specializing in the production of geotechnical tools, instrumentation, and electronics. Adara supports ConeTec’s global operations by delivering precision-engineered equipment and systems that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
The Adara Manager is responsible for leading Adara Systems, overseeing all aspects of production, staffing, inventory, calibration, shipping and receiving, customer service and quality assurance. This role ensures the timely and accurate delivery of geotechnical tools and data acquisition systems to ConeTec’s operating divisions worldwide. The Adara Manager will lead a high functioning team of professionals, foster cross-departmental collaboration, ensure our field operations have the high-quality tools they need to conduct their work, all while managing Adara’s financial performance.
This is an in-office position based at our head office in Burnaby, BC. Occasional travel to other ConeTec sites or meeting locations may be required. The role involves overseeing a dynamic manufacturing environment with a strong focus on precision, quality, innovation, efficiency, and service deliver.
OVERALL GOALS FOR POSITION
Adara Systems produces the following equipment for use internally ConeTec:
- CPT systems and related modules
- Uphole instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Ancillary equipment (cables, depth encoders, related parts and supplies)
- Various proprietary specialty soil samplers
- Specialty deployment rods
Adara Systems delivers a unique value to the ConeTec group through its ability to:
- Miniaturize Instruments: Adara manufactures internally designed, sophisticated instruments that are compact enough to be deployed in downhole tooling. These devices are engineered to withstand extreme environmental conditions while delivering high-quality data

- Efficient Repair and Advanced Calibration Capabilities: Adara Systems performs fast and accurate repairs and calibrations on all its instruments. The goal is to minimize downtime and reduce cost by returning equipment to the field rapidly
ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
- Lead and manage a team of 15 staff at Adara Systems
- Oversee manufacturing operations including sourcing, production, calibration, inventory, and shipping/receiving.
- Ensure high standards of precision, quality, and timeliness for all manufactured components and systems.
- Maintain and improve workflow and quality management systems to support operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with ConeTec’s operating divisions to understand and meet or exceed their equipment and instrumentation needs.
- Manage the budget and balance sheet for Adara Systems
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Vendor and supply chain management
- Maintenance of production documentation, drawings, and assembly instructions
- Regulatory compliance (if applicable - CSA, CE, ISO, etc.)
- Forecasting production needs based on field demand
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
- 10+ years of experience in leadership roles, managing cross-functional teams in technical or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience in manufacturing management, preferably in instrumentation, electronic systems, technical sales, calibration, and mechanical products.
- Experience with small-batch, high-precision electronics manufacturing and managing technical staff (technicians, engineers, assemblers).
- Knowledge of testing protocols and calibration systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, P&L, and inventory responsibilities.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality, precision, and efficiency
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A focus on customer service and delivering outstanding products.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Eligible to register or registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
- Experience with electronic tools, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
- Strong understanding of load cells and load cell calibration requirements, pressure transducers, accelerometers, and other instrumentation and sensors
- Experience with internal service delivery across multiple business units.
- Experience with lean management and process improvement
- Experience with ISO9001 and ISO17025 procedures and accreditation
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, Office 365, MRP software, and project management tools.
