Quality Engineer

  • Location: Predominantly based on Sellafield Site. May be required to visit Hinton House (Warrington) or client offices.
  • Type: Permanent or Contract (Inside IR35)

Role Description:

  • Evaluate, verify, and certify quality in SSEP proposing and embedding improvements where necessary to ensure delivery is effective, minimises the cost of failure and meets customer and end client.
  • To support the handover of project documentation to client.
  • To plan, evaluate & verify quality, proposing and embedding improvements where necessary to ensure delivery is effective, minimises the cost and/or consequence of failure and meets customer/stakeholder requirements.
  • Assist in the delivery of projects portfolio quality improvement plans in accordance with project or operational plant objectives.
  • Assist in the delivery of an efficient learning from experience process at the project level.
  • Deploying quality assurance and control activities to support right first-time delivery for their area.
  • Support the implementation of the SSEP handover process.
  • Assist with the monitoring, analysis and reporting on the quality of delivery performance in a specified area through evaluation and assessment of relevant performance trend data, i.e. monthly quality dashboard production.
  • Review and acceptance of relevant project supplier quality submissions.
  • Assist in the implementation of an agreed quality and lifetime record strategy for SSEP.
  • Assist in the development and agree quality plans for project activity, identifying the level and frequency of inspection required to monitor quality standards in line with customer and client specifications.
  • Provision of technical advice to project functions.
  • Assist in the identification and propose quality improvements, presenting recommendations to relevant stakeholders and committees and influencing line management to implement changes.
  • Assist in the investigation of quality related concerns and events, and identify appropriate corrective/preventive action, escalating quality issues to the quality manager.

Profile

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Graduate in relevant discipline with work experience in a similar role on project delivery.
  • Project experience within a project environment with a similar complexity and risk.
  • Relevant security clearance level to access and inspects areas on site within area of responsibility.
  • Ability to work within the project team.
  • Relevant quality specific qualifications (e.g.CQI, Auditor).
