Description de la mission

The Chicago Transit Authority has selected the consortium of VINCI Construction Grands Projets (40%) and Chicago-based Walsh Construction Company (60%) to build the extension to the Red Line subway system.


The contract, worth $2.78 billion (€2.49 billion), covers the design and construction of a 9 km extension to the line, including a 6.4 km overhead section. In addition, four new stations will be built, fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.


This extension is designed to serve the disadvantaged communities of Chicago's Far South Side.


The design and construction of:


6.4 km of elevated structure and 2.5 km of at-grade tracks,
4 new stations, with associated furnishings, 3 new parking lots,
5 traction substations and relay houses,
2-track rails and systems for the full operability of the new metro extension,
The rehabilitation of local streets and landscaping within the project areas,
Gross Estimate of Design & Build Contract: $2.9 billion USD.
The WALSH VINCI TRANSIT PARTNER is made of:


Design-Build Joint Venture: Walsh Group (60%) and VINCI Construction Grands Projets (40%) with EXP and SYSTRA as Main Designer JV.



Responsibilities:


Within the Project Control department, the Schedule Engineer’s specific areas of responsibility are the following:


Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and TILOS.
Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure alignment of schedules with project objectives.
Analyze schedule variances and propose solutions to minimize delays.
Prepare progress reports and regular updates for project stakeholders.
Participate in planning and coordination meetings to discuss scheduling issues and possible solutions.
Ensure compliance with project quality standards and procedures in scheduling.
Regular interaction with other team members (cost control team, construction team, designers) to understand requirements and make appropriate scheduling actions.
Strong interaction with cost control to ensure budget alignment with project schedules.

Profil

Engineering degree (civil engineering is a plus).
Experience with planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and TILOS. Excellent proficiency in detailed scheduling.
Good knowledge of Excel and project management software.
Knowledge of construction methodologies and temporary works design, experience in structural construction works, particularly bridges.
Previous experience in a contractor’s technical team on large infrastructure projects.
Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others is essential.
Broad generalized knowledge of personnel safety, process safety, and environmental principles/regulations.
Fluent in English with professional proficiency.
Valid Driver’s License.
