Description of the assignment

Civil & Structural Revit Technician

The Civil & Structural Revit Technician is key in providing our design engineering services. The Revit Specialist is responsible for the production of discipline specific design and engineering data to support the project deliverables.  The ideal candidate will be a competent Revit technician who has experience within Civil & Structural Engineering and working within a BIM environment.  They should have be capable of working within multi-disciplinary design teams in a highly regulated industry.  The candidate will be required to formalise design sketches produced by others in design team and convert 3D laser scans into workable models, reporting on coordination and clash detection.

 

Reports to

Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer.

Profile

Key Accountabilities

·                 Set up, modify, and take ownership of Structural, Civil & Architectural Revit models,

·                 Formalising design sketches from the design team,

·                 Using 3D laser scans in the creation of Revit models,

·                 Production of 2D drawings from the Revit model,

·                 Structural steel detailing experience,

·                 Rebar detailing experience,

·                 Helping to deliver BIM projects,

·                 Developing and maintaining Revit families,

·                 Production of design deliverables throughout the design process,

·                 Contribution to design reviews and safety reviews,

·                 Ensuring quality and timely delivery of design documentation throughout all phases of the design process,

·                 Compliance with safety and statutory regulations,

·                 Develop cost effective technical solutions,

·                 Management of sensitive information,

·                 Document control.

 

Occupational Skills and Knowledge

·                 Degree qualified in a relevant technical / engineering discipline or demonstrable experience,

·                 Associate membership of a discipline specific engineering institution.

 

Duties and Requirements
Essential
· Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit,
· Knowledge of the fundamentals within your engineering discipline,
· Knowledge and experience with the BIM Levels of Details (LOD),
· Previous experience in the role of design in highly regulated industry, e.g. Nuclear/Defence,
· Proven track record of successfully delivering design solutions,
· Good understanding of safety legislation and statutory regulations,
· Proven track record within a project environment,
· Strong organisational and interpersonal skills,
· Good commercial awareness.
