Description of the assignment

Purpose of the Job

  • To assist the Audit and Certification Manager in defining, planning, and delivering the Corporate Audit Plan.
  • To plan, conduct, and report on internal and external audits.
  • To provide subject matter expertise to all Business Lines, Operations, Projects, and Functions in relation to the ISO 9001:2015
  • To conduct Supplier Assessments and Report
  • To audit internal operations against the Nuvia Quality Management System
  • To audit Nuvia’s suppliers and monitor their performance through defined KPI’s

Reporting in Line

  • Reporting to the Audit and Certification Manager

Key Accountabilities 

  • Working collaboratively and proactively with third party audit bodies (e.g. Lloyds, BSI, and Nuvia’s Client Base).
  • Delivery of Audits as specified within the Nuvia Corporate Quality Audit Plan.
  • Conducting Project Quality Health Checks as defined by the Audit and Certification Manager.
  • Engagement with Nuclear Sector Regulators.
  • Engagement with Standards Bodies (e.g. British Standards Institution).
  • Tracking Non-Conformances (NC’s) to successful resolution.
  • Generation and reporting of Audit Metrics to the Head of Quality.

Competence Profile

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Qualification (Essential)
  • Previous experience in ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Roles (Nuclear Sector preferred but not essential).
  • ISO 45001 (Desirable but not essential)
  • ISO 14001 (Desirable but not essential)
  • CQI or IRCA Membership (or a willingness/ability to obtain within 12 months of starting) is Essential.
  • Extensive experience of stakeholder engagement with internal and external clients
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good Analytical Computer and IT Skills are Essential.

Employment, Educational and Professional Background

Education:

  • Level 3 Qualification minimum.  Can include A Levels in Science or Mathematics based subjects, ONC, TEC, or T Level in Engineering, Technical, or Scientific based Subjects

Previous Employment:

  • Experience working within a highly regulated industry is essential to this role.  This position is suited to someone who has a technical/scientific background and who has subsequently moved into the Quality Management and Audit Profession.

Professional Background:

  • Membership of (or the ability to achieve) Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or the International Register of Certified Auditors is required for this role.
