Description of the assignment

Site Engineer – National Bridge Strengthening Project (Eastern Australia)

 

Freyssinet Australia is seeking a driven and capable Site Engineer to join our civil structures team on a high-profile bridge strengthening project due to commence in October/November 2025 on the East Coast of Australia.

 

This project involves bearing replacements at piers and abutments, as well as external post-tensioning — a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience in specialist techniques alongside some of the most experienced engineers in the field.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting daily delivery and coordination of works on-site
  • Preparing ITPs, quality documentation, and tracking project progress
  • Working closely with the Construction Manager and Project Engineer to manage subcontractors and materials
  • Ensuring compliance with HSEQ systems and technical specifications
  • Assisting in site reporting, scheduling, and cost tracking

Profile

You’ll bring:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 3+ years of site-based experience, ideally in bridge or heavy infrastructure works
  • Exposure to remediation, post-tensioning, bearing replacement, or similar technical methods is highly regarded
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A willingness to travel and mobilise nationally for future projects — this is just the beginning
